Cooking is BACK, baby!

Once upon a time, just one generation ago, mothers stayed home and cooked for their families.  Home made treats were baked daily and set upon the kitchen counter for the return of hungry children after school.  Casseroles were shared at the dinner table during the evening news and picnics featured share-able goodies like pies, cakes, cold chicken and flasks of tea.

Today, thanks to an invasion of celebrity chefs (with or without profanities), the weekend presence of wonderful farmers’ markets and dozens of new TV lifestyle programmes … cooking is BACK!!  The funny thing is that it’s now a novelty!

When was the last time you got your hands deliciously dirty in a bowl of flour, or creamed some butter and sugar?  When did you last prepare a meal for your family, or even for yourself, using ingredients rather than packets?  If you’re like me, you’re enjoying the resurgence of cooking for pleasure.

Whether you’re a beginner or a gourmet cook, Chef’s Toolbox will inspire you to look forward to your kitchen adventures.  Getting together with a bunch of friends over a glass of wine is the ideal way to remind yourself that food is fun and that preparing it can be enjoyable.  Hope to see you at a Chef’s Toolbox cooking party soon!

I love homewares, and in particular, kitchenware!  I find I cook better with lovely pots and pans and surrounded by all the latest and greatest gadgets.  To be able to combine the need to make a living with the joy of using top quality kitchenware is something I didn’t even realise was possible!  Not only have I uncovered a brand new enthusiasm for cooking, baking and feeding the family, but I’m spreading that enthusiasm to other people.

Stay tuned for more …
